Al Ansari Exchange donates AED 1.2 million to provide 150,000 meals in support of the ’10 Million Meals’ campaign

Al Ansari Exchange, the UAE-based foreign exchange and worldwide money transfer company, has announced a donation of AED 1.2 million to the ’10 Million Meals’ campaign, the UAE’s biggest food distribution drive that was launched in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. The company’s donation ensures the provision of more than 150,000 meals to help support people and families that are in need across the country, in line with Al Ansari Exchange’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Mohammed Ali Al Ansari, Chairman of Al Ansari Exchange, said, “Our donation of AED 1.2 million to the ’10 Million Meals’ campaign aims to provide 150,000 meals and food parcels for individuals and families that are affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. Our donation, which falls in line with our CSR and national duty, demonstrates our eagerness and solidarity to support the country’s humanitarian efforts, most importantly now as we celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan.”
Al Ansari added: “These initiatives, which have been launched by our wise leadership, reflect the noble values of the people of the UAE and reinforce the concepts of solidarity, cooperation and community synergy. Al Ansari Exchange has launched several social and charitable programs and initiatives to support a number of key sectors, such as education, health, etc. The company continues its support for humanitarian initiatives and efforts aimed at reducing the impact made by natural disasters and their repercussions, in cooperation with governments in many regions around the world.
The ’10 Million Meals’ campaign was launched by His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and is led by his wife, H.H. Shaikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UAE Food Bank. The campaign, which is being organized by the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), in cooperation with the Community Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19, is aimed towards creating a system of community solidarity. It is the largest of its kind in the UAE to provide nutritional support to the needy and affected by the economic, social and humanitarian repercussions that the world is living in following the spread of COVID-19. This campaign is aimed at securing the basic needs and enhancing the sense of safety and stability of the country’s citizens and residents.
